The Rubin Museum Announces Fall Programming Series
This fall, the Rubin Museum of Art has organized a series of talks, workshops, films, and experiences about the power of going against the grain titled The Power of Non-Conformity. Running through December, the series features the East Coast premiere of a new film about Ram Dass; a talk with playwright and activist Eve Ensler about radical truth; a conversation between former dominatrix and Taoist nun Kasia Urbaniak and actress Julianna Margulies reflecting on what makes a 'good' woman; a workshop with medium Paul Selig about living beyond our comfort zone; a discussion with Himalayan master Yogishri about the act of letting go; an unconventional workshop with neuroscientist Dr. Beau Lotto and his Lab of Misfits that leverages the inherent transformative power of haira?"no matter its length, shape, thickness, or absence; and much more.
16th St Players & Masquers Playhouse Premiere BACKSTAGE STORIES
Theatre veteran John Hull draws on his love of theater for a suite of one-act comedies set in the world behind the curtain. Backstage Stories is a co-production of San Francisco's 16th St. Players and The Masquers Playhouse of Point Richmond. It is directed by Katina Letheule. Backstage Stories runs for three consecutive weekends, October 27-November 12, at the Mission Dolores Academy Auditorium, 3371-16th Street (between Dolores & Church) in San Francisco.
Theater of Others Updates 400-Year-Old Comedy THE ROARING GIRL 6/16- 7/2
Theater of Others continues its fearless foray into the plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries with Thomas Middleton and Thomas Dekker's 1611 comedy, The Roaring Girl, or Moll Cutpurse. Moll is a dramatization of the life of Mary Frith, a carouser, cross-dresser, pickpocket, and street brawler in the lower depths of 17th century London. Gaby Schneider directs a cast of fourteen at the Theater of Others' home, the Kelly Cullen Community Auditorium, 220 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco. The Roaring Girl, or Moll Cutpurse runs Thursdays through Sundays, June 16-July 2. As with all Theater of Others productions, admission is Pay-What-You-Will.

Russian Arts and Theatre Studio (The RATS Company) announces the world premiere production of EURASIAN INVASION! RATS IN REPERTORY, a two show series, which includes Fred Pezzulli and Di Zhu's HOUSE OF CURIOSITIES and Aleksey Burago and Di Zhu's BILLY BOB BOILS THE SEA, both directed by Aleksey Burago. EURASIAN INVASION! will play a four-week limited engagement at The Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, NYC). Performances begin tonight, June 8 and continue through to Sunday, July 1.

Off-Broadway¹s Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Executive Producer - Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director Elliot Fox, Managing Director) and Bloomingdale¹s have formed a corporate partnership in celebration of the New York Premiere of Charles Grodin¹s new play, The Right Kind of People, which begins performances at Primary Stages, the resident company at 59E59 Theaters, Tuesday, January 24, 2006, and is slated to run until Sunday, March 5, 2006.
