Brooklyn Art Song Society Announces 2023"24 Season

Brooklyn Art Song Society (BASS) announced its 2023-24 season, which features Circles, a six-part series following friendships between composers throughout history, as well as the return of the Dichter Project and New Voices Festival. Led by Artistic Director Michael Brofman, the organization, which plays a vital role in keeping the tradition of art song alive, presents ten full-length concerts highlighting 37 composers and 56 performers.
Lincoln Center Announces Updates to 2013 GREAT PERFORMERS and WHITE LIGHT FESTIVAL

A number of program changes and additions have been made to the performances, screenings, and events presented by Great Performers and the White Light Festival at Lincoln Center this season. Below is a final schedule of events for both series through June 4, 2013.
Jo Ellen Miller and More Perform 'Die Jahrhundertwende' at Liederkranz Tonight, 7/24

The artists present "Die Jahrhundertwende," a program featuring songs by two of the last great romantic Lieder composers (Wolf and Brahms) and two pioneers of modernity (Schoenberg and Berg). Along with two less famous but exceptionally interesting transitional figures (Zemlinsky and Pfitzner), the program explores the astonishing variety in German Song during this pivotal 15 years.

Cutting Ball Theater Season Opens With PELLEAS & MELISANDE

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater opens its 12th season with French symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck's PELLEAS & MELISANDE, in a new translation by Cutting Ball Artistic Director Rob Melrose. Directed by Melrose, with a musical score by composer Cliff Caruthers, video installation by Wesley Cabral, and choreography by Laura Arrington, PELLEAS & MELISANDE features Joshua Schell, Catilyn Louchard, Derek Fischer, Paul Gerrior, and Gwyneth Richards, along with Bennett Fisher, Jessica Rudholm, Carla Pauli, and Brittany Kilcoyne McGregor. PELLEAS & MELISANDE plays October 21-November 27 (Press opening: October 27) at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. Christine Brewer Returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall in Colburn Celebrity Series Recital

American soprano Christine Brewer returns to the Walt Disney Concert Hall stage in a recital of songs by a diverse lineup of composers, Tuesday, June 1, at 8 p.m. She is joined by pianist Craig Rutenberg making his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut. The Colburn Celebrity Series event is the final series performance of the LA Phil's 2009/10 season.
