USA Network Announces Series Pickup for DARE ME
USA Network announced a series pickup for Dare Me from UCP in association with Film 44. Based on the acclaimed novel by Megan Abbott, who serves as writer and executive producer along with Gina Fattore (Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, Californication”), Dare Me is an unflinching exploration of teen angst, jealousy, loyalty, and the dynamics of power in a small Midwestern town. Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) and Michael Lombardo of Film 44, Sarah Condon and Karen Rosenfelt executive produce. Netflix will co-produce and have first-run rights to the series outside of the U.S.

They gather enough evidence for ADA Barba (Raul Esparza) to file charges, but the case begins to spiral as he contends with a deceptively tough defense attorney (guest star Vardalos.) Also starring Mariska Hargitay (Detective Olivia Benson), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Danny Pino (Detective Nick Amaro), and Kelli Giddish (Detective Amanda Rollins). Also guest starring Victoria Rowell ('The Young and The Restless') and Fred Norris ('The Howard Stern Show'). 'Criminal Hatred' airs Jan. 30 on NBC.
Stephen R. Buntrock, Jenny Powers, Mia Dillon et al. Join Berkshire Theatre Fest.
Berkshire Theatre Festival has announced additional casting for this summer's productions. The new cast members include Tony winners and nominees, multiple veterans of Broadway and Off Broadway as well as many returning BTF alumni. Husband and wife Stephen R. Buntrock and Erin Dilly will be working together on the world premiere of In the Mood. Jenny Powers and Angela Robinson have joined the cast of The Who's Tommy. Rachel Bay Jones of Broadway's Hair will take on the famed title character in Sylvia. Tony Winner Mia Dillon is joining Broadway and BTF alum C.J. Wilson and the previously announced Rebecca Brooksher in Tennessee Williams's serious comedy Period of Adjustment. Film actors Christian Coulson and Amari Cheatom will take on the world premiere two-hander Dutch Masters.
