StoryBook Theatre To Present Disney's NEWSIES This May
Disney's Newsies will close out StoryBook Theatre's 46th Season of Inspiration, running from May 12 - June 3, 2023 on Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays at 2 p.m. Audiences will be welcomed to experience a show that's filled with love, perseverance, overcoming adversity, standing up for others, as well as spotlighting the importance of community and collaboration.
Storybook Theatre Presents THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL
StoryBook Theatre presents the premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. From October 14 – November 5 on Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm, audiences will be welcomed to experience Greek mythology, moral choices and the strength of togetherness through the beloved musical.

The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.
Juried COD Student Art Exhibit at the MAC's Cleve Carney Art Gallery Set for 4/10-5/17
The Cleve Carney Art Gallery hosts the College of DuPage's Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, April 10 to May 17. Opening preview reception is Thursday, April 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. and the gallery will be open until 8 p.m. that evening for extended viewing. Playwright Nell Benjamin and Explorer Sylvia Earle Set for Talk After MTC's THE EXPLORERS CLUB, 5/31
On Friday, May 31, Tony nominated writer Nell Benjamin and legendary deep-sea explorer Sylvia Earle - one of the first women admitted to the real Explorers Club in New York - will engage in a conversation to talk about their experiences in their respective fields, following the 8 PM performance of Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of THE EXPLORERS CLUB, a madcap comedy now in previews at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The conversation will be moderated by Peabody Award-winning journalist and author Lynn Sherr.
