Marriott Expands Mobile Check-in and Checkout for Marriott Rewards Members to Nearly 500 Hotels

To put even more power in the hands of travelers, Marriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International (MAR) has expanded mobile check-in and checkout globally for Marriott Rewards members to nearly 500 hotels. This means Marriott Rewards guests from London to Dubai to Shanghai to Mexico City to New York can simply check-in and checkout using the wildly popular Marriott Mobile app on their smartphone. First introduced last year at its hotels in the United States and Canada, Marriott Hotels mobile check-in and checkout is now available in every continent where its nearly 500 properties are located.*

In recognition of its increasingly connected mobile guests, Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International (NYSE:MAR), is announcing plans to rollout mobile check-in at 325 hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Now launched at 31 Marriott-brand hotels, mobile check-in will expand to all 325 Marriott-brand hotels later this summer. This will represent the broadest mobile offering of its kind in the U.S. and Canada. According to the consulting firm Hudson Crossing, emerging Gen Y travelers (ages 24 36) in the U.S. lead all other age groups in smartphone ownership at 80 percent and travelers in general are more likely to own mobile devices.
