On Saturday, November 5 at 6PM, patrons, community leaders and artists will gather at the Orange Lawn Tennis Club for the South Orange Performing Arts Center's 2022 Gala. The event—SOPAC's largest fundraiser of the year—will raise significant funds to support local arts education and serve the community through arts experiences that inspire and transform.

SOPAC Announces Matching Fund Emergency Campaign
As the impact of the Coronavirus is felt throughout the region, nonprofit arts centers are turning to the community to help sustain them through the months ahead. The South Orange Performing Arts Center has launched an emergency fundraising campaign championed by its Board of Governors, who raised $30,000 from their ranks, to provide matching funds for donors to SOPAC. When people donate to the SOPAC 2020 Emergency Fund their gift is matched by the Board of Governors' fund, thereby doubling the impact made by their donation. Gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
The South Orange Performing Arts Center Has Announced Craig Sumberg as its New Executive Director
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has announced the appointment of Craig Sumberg as its new executive director. An extensive national search targeted the former Executive Director of the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation as a highly qualified candidate, and Sumberg quickly stood out while going through the interview process. His record of achievement is impressive and under his leadership, 'the Fox' grew from a $600,000 budget to one close to $5 million, along with greatly expanded presented events and an exponential rise in audience numbers.
SOPAC Names Theater In Honor Of Jennifer And Tony Leitner
Tony and Jennifer Leitner were honored at a dedication ceremony in the lobby of the South Orange Performing Arts Center on Monday, June 18. Former Maplewood residents, the Leitners were lauded for their long-time and unswerving dedication to advancing the mission of SOPAC to become a first-class presenting organization in the region. The main theatre is now known as the Jennifer and Tony Leitner Performance Hall. A new sign above the doors of the theater honors their generosity.
