BIO
Patti McGuire is an actor and singer based in Central Florida. She is the original Iowa Housewife in Menopause, The Musical. Her local credits include: The Mama in Opal (Orlando Rep), Mrs. Higgins in My Fair Lady, Aunt Julia in The Dead, and Col. McKean in 1776 (Mad Cow Theatre), Celebrate Me Home (Winter Park Playhouse), Mrs. Rosenbloom (Sea World), and Matron in Women Behind Bars (Orlando Fringe). As December steamrolls into the station, we are reminded, over and over again, with tv ads, a 7 mile radius of traffic surrounding the Mall at Millenia, and tepid temperatures that the holidays are here. Despite all that, what causes the most turmoil with the holidays is that terrifying F-word. Family. Families and the holidays go together like, well, drinking and the holidays. At the Mad Cow Theatre, you will find all of those things living and breathing full life in an oddly optimistic staging of JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD that has enough energy onstage to put the Sun Rain storming by to shame.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces the run of Roger Guenveur Smith's 'deeply moving' (The New York Times) Rodney King, an electrifying solo show that explores the legacy of a complex historical American icon. Smith, a celebrated artist noted for his performances in Spike Lee films such as Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, was last at Woolly in 1996 with his stirring solo performance piece, A Huey P. Newton Story. A part of The Capital Fringe Festival, all tickets to this limited two-week engagement of Rodney King will be $35.
