A massive undertaking in the debut of this re-worked show, has Peanuts fans, like myself giddy with excitement. Head of Texas State University's Musical Theatre Department, Kaitlin Hopkins, took time from her busy schedule to answer some questions for BWW.
Winner Announced for NYC Parks' #GoPark Photo Contest

Out of close to 800 entries submitted to the #GoPark photo contest, the judges have announced the winning photo is Sean Sweeney's The Morning Sun, taken in Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island, Sweeney's home borough. Entries representing every borough were received, with submissions ranging from the city's parks and beaches, to its wildlife and natural beauty, great scenery and the laughter of people who came to our parks.
Judges Announced for #GoPark Photo Contest

Calling all New Yorkers who have an eye for parks: only a few days left to join the #GoPark photo contest, for the chance to have your snapshot adorn official NYC Parks merchandise sold through City Store! Submissions will be judged by a panel of four experts on parks and design: First Deputy Mayor Patti Harris; NYC Parks Commissioner Veronica M. White; Chief Digital Officer for the City of New York Rachel Haot; and Founder and CEO of Infinia Group LLC Ron Cappello.
St. Ann's Warehouse Begins Construction on Tobacco Warehouse

This morning, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, St. Ann's Warehouse Founder and Artistic Director Susan Feldman, St. Ann's Warehouse Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson, St. Ann's Warehouse Board Chair Joseph S. Steinberg, Brooklyn Bridge Park President Regina Myer, NYC Council Member Stephen Levin, State Senator Daniel Squadron and others broke ground at the Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The event signals the beginning of St. Ann's $27 million development of the historic building, originally constructed in 1861, into a 25,000 SF performing arts center and community hub on the Brooklyn waterfront. The Tobacco Warehouse will serve as a permanent home for St. Ann's, which has activated found spaces for cultural use in downtown Brooklyn since in 1980. The non-profit organization plans to present its opening season in the Brooklyn Bridge Park warehouse in Fall 2015.

In 1994, Bette Midler returned to New York after nearly 20 years in Los Angeles, and started the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing abandoned and neglected parks, gardens, and open spaces in all five boroughs back to life. NYRP includes the beautiful New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park as part of its success, and is committed to helping restore parks and gardens devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The organization just held its 12th Annual Spring Picnic and you can check out full coverage below!
