Patrick McGuire is an educator, director, instrumentalist, and multi-disciplinary artist. Recent and upcoming properties design credits include: Sister Act, Cabaret, A Christmas Carol (Metropolis PAC), Junior Claus, The Christians (Citadel Theatre), SpongeBob the Musical (Kokandy Productions). Other design credits include: Nevermore… (puppetry/props), Shrek (puppetry), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey 2 design/construction), Marie Antoinette (costumes/props), Elephant’s Graveyard (costumes).
Favorite pit directing and performance credits include: Spring Awakening (Three Brothers Theatre), Little Shop of Horrors (Elgin Theatre Company), Pippin (Elgin Theatre Company), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Blue Dot Theatre), Jane Eyre, Into the Woods, Jekyll & Hyde (RLHS Theatre). Patrick has also worked as a freelance wind player, vocalist, and actor in and around Chicago. Credits include: A One Night Stand (Apollo Studio Theatre), Leap of Faith (Pride Films and Plays), Beethoven in Vienna (Wishing Star Theatre).
Patrick has done freelance design and fabrication work for companies including, Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, and Gallaudet University, as well as countless design/fabrication commissions in puppetry, historical millinery, props, and costume crafts via his label The Befuddled Haberdasher.
