FUN HOME is Up Next for Kansas City Repertory Theatre
Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2019/20 season with FUN HOME. Fun Home is the winner of five 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Inspired by Alison Bechdel's best-selling graphic novel, this relatable and moving story has Alison reliving her upbringing with her brilliant and volatile father-a man whose own secrets defined the family-while discovering her sexuality. It's a journey marked by honesty and humor and filled with memorable songs.
Acidhead Releases 'Distractions' EP
Patrick McGee, aka Acidhead, has arrived with his debut single titled 'Throw Away The Time.' It's the lead track from his forthcoming debut project, Distractions, dropping November 15th via Veriditas Recordings. The track was entirely produced and arranged by Acidhead with 80's synths and drums inspired by Late Registration-era Kanye.
Elton John AIDS Foundation Fall Gala to Honor Patricia Hearst, Gayle King will Host and Sheryl Crow will Perform
On Monday, November 5, 2018, the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) will host its annual New York Fall Gala at Cipriani 42ndStreet in New York City. At this year's gala, EJAF Founder Sir Elton John and Chairman David Furnish will honor Ford Foundation President Darren Walker, philanthropist Patricia Hearst, and long-time advocate Joe McMillan, CEO and Chairman of DDG, with EJAF's Enduring Vision Award. Nine-time Grammy Award Winning Singer, Songwriter Sheryl Crow will be the special musical guest, and Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) and the new National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama, will be the featured speaker. CBS This Morning co-anchor and journalist Gayle King will host the event.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival continues its Thirty-Second Season with a play-reading marathon today, February 23, 2013, at The Vagabond Players, 806 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 (www.vagabondplayers.com). Starting at 11:30 a.m., plays to be read are The Good News, by Matthew Buckley Smith, directed by Kwame Bey, followed at 2:00 p.m. by The Prognosis, by Patrick J. McGeever, directed by Steve Goldklang, and at 3:00 by Peep Show, by Ivan Taub, directed by Rodney Bonds. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.
