Broadway Star Abby Mueller Performs Live At Stars Of Stony Brook Gala Fundraiser
Over 850 guests gathered last evening at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City to honor alumna and Simons Foundation President Marilyn Hawrys Simons '74, PhD '84, at the 20th Stars of Stony Brook Gala. Hosted annually by the Stony Brook Foundation Board of Trustees, this year's celebration recognized Dr. Simons for her leadership as president of one of the nation's premier philanthropic institutions devoted to driving progress in basic science, as well as her contributions to improving educational opportunities for the underserved at the university and beyond.

Beginning this Sunday the recently extended hit family musical ENDANGERED! will introduce its THE ENDANGERED CLIMATE TALKBACK SERIES, following the Sunday performances (3pm curtain, talk back begins at 4:30pm) at the Davenport Theatre (354 West 45 Street).

Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby,” “Dolphin Tale”) narrates the IMAX 3D® documentary “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar,” the incredible true story of nature's greatest explorers—lemurs. The film reunites Freeman with Drew Fellman, who also wrote and produced the 2011 IMAX 3D documentary “Born to Be Wild 3D,” and director David Douglas, who served as director of photography on that film.
