Orpheum Theatre Marquee to Dim in Memory of Former President Pat Halloran

The Orpheum Theatre Group has announced that the lights of the historic Orpheum Theatre marquee will dim on Friday, February 16 at 7:30pm for five (5) minutes in tribute to former Orpheum President Pat Halloran who passed away on Thursday, February 8.

Orpheum's HALLORAN CENTRE Officially Opens with Ribbon Cutting, Dedication

Today at 2:00 PM the Memphis Development Foundation (MDF), which operates the Orpheum Theatre, formally dedicated the newest and largest capital project in its history: the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. The ceremony included a ribbon cutting, flag presentation, dedication prayer, and reception. Event speakers included MDF Board Chairman Andy Taylor, Mayor AC Wharton, Jr., Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, and Orpheum President & CEO Pat Halloran. Mr. Taylor led the ceremony, and Dr. Scott Morris presided over the dedication.
Orpheum Theatre to Host Lobby Sale, Today

On Today, September 18 the Orpheum Theatre will open its doors for a special Lobby Sale event. From 9:00am to 4:00pm, the organization will offer a chance to purchase items from a unique stock of Orpheum-related wares. Food trucks will also be on-site during lunch hours from approximately 10:00am to 1:00pm.

The come-and-go event will take place between 10:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday, September 12th and will include self-guided tours, performances by Memphis arts organizations, dance classes, food trucks, and a craft studio.

On Saturday, August 29th the Orpheum Theatre will unveil its newest and grandest art installation, "Orpheus Ascending" by world-renowned sculptor Richard MacDonald. MacDonald will be present at the event and honored for his work. The dedication will coincide with the Orpheum's 21st Annual Art Sale, taking place from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.
Tony Bennett Returning to Memphis' Orpheum Theatre, 12/18

Renowned recording artist Tony Bennet will perform for one night only at The Orpheum Theatre on Friday, December 18th at 8:00 PM. The Theatre is proud that this will be Mr. Bennett's third Orpheum engagement, the most recent being in February of 1997. Orpheum Theatre to Roast President & CEO Pat Halloran, 9/24

On Thursday, September 24th the Orpheum Theatre will recognize longtime President and CEO Pat Halloran with a Roast. Halloran recently announced his retirement effective December 31st of 2015. By that time, he will have completed 35 years of invaluable service to the Orpheum. Proceeds from this special night of anecdotes will benefit Halloran's last and largest project: the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, July 23rd.
BACKSTAGE BASH Returns to The Orpheum, 8/7

The 2nd annual Backstage Bash will be held on Friday, August 7th, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Orpheum Theatre. The Backstage Bash gives guests the 'star's view' of the Orpheum by taking place on the theatre's iconic stage and providing access to the Orpheum's celebrated collection of murals painted by Broadway touring casts.
Orpheum Theatre's 2nd Annual Break-A-Leg 5K, Inspired by MOTOWN, Set for Next Month

Orpheum Board Honors President with Building Name

The Board of Directors of the Memphis Development Foundation (MDF), which operates the historic Orpheum Theatre, will name the Foundation's newest capital addition the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education in honor of President and CEO Pat Halloran. Halloran will have served the Orpheum Theatre for 35 years at the time of his retirement at the end of 2015. The Centre, a $14.5 million addition to the Orpheum campus, has long been a passion project of Halloran's.

The Orpheum Theatre announces the official 2015 schedule for its annual Summer Movie Series.  Presented for a fourth year by Orion Federal Credit Union, this year's films consist of comedies, classics, fan favorites, and family-friendly features, some of which have never before appeared on the Orpheum screen.  The series will run from June 4 to August 28 at the Orpheum Theatre. 
Orpheum Welcomes Ron Jewell as VP of Centre Operations

The Memphis Development Foundation (MDF), which operates the historic Orpheum Theatre, announces that Ron Jewell, current Director of the Bartlett Performing Arts Center, will join the MDF staff as Vice-President of Operations at the forthcoming Centre for Performing Arts Education. The $14.5 million Centre is expected to formally open in August of this year.
