Annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive For San Diego Teens To Conlcude With Production Of PERICLES
The Old Globe?s second annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive for Teens began on July 20 and will conclude on August 17 with a performance of Shakespeare?s Pericles, Prince of Tyre. The play will be performed in English with scenes in Spanish and American Sign Language. The performance will also be interpreted in sign language for the deaf and hard of hearing. The Intensive is a classical acting program designed to provide an opportunity for committed high school students to refine their acting skills through a full-time, four-week course culminating in a performance on the Globe?s outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre stage. NVA Set To Unveil Their 9th Season Of Theatre 5/9
New Village Arts, Carlsbad?s award-winning, professional theatre will be unveiling their ninth season of theatre on Saturday, May 9th from 5-10 PM at the unforgettable home of Julie & Peder Norby on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad. The Norby?s home, named ?Herons? House? is a zero energy home made with about 98% recycled material and surrounded by native low water plants and a fully operational vineyard. It has been honored with the 2008 Sandee Award as well as the 2008 S.D. County 3rd District Supervisor Pam Slater-Price Sustainability Award. As a special incentive, guests will be invited to taste the first wine ever grown from seed and bottled in the City of Carlsbad.
