Dimo Kim Musical Theatre Factory, a new theatre company providing more roles for Asian American actors has announced that it will present the Off-Broadway revival of COMFORT WOMEN: A NEW MUSICAL written by South Korean Theater Director Dimo Hyun Jun Kim, Osker David Aguirre, and Joann Malory Miese with music by Bryan Michaels and TaeHo Park on Friday, July 20th through Sunday, September 2nd in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Friday, July 27th. The production is supported by the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan.

The production dramatizes a dilemma -- whether to leave home, family and friends for an uncertain future in a foreign land, or stay, hoping the situation will improve -- that has been shared and faced by thousands of emigres.

'A Happy End' by Israeli playwright Iddo Netanyahu is the story of a well-to-do, well-integrated Jewish couple in 1932 Berlin deciding whether to remain in Germany or to flee to America. The production dramatizes a dilemma - whether to leave home, family and friends for an uncertain future in a foreign land, or stay, hoping the situation will improve - that has been shared and faced by most political emigres. The piece will be presented as an Equity Showcase September 10 to 19 at Aaron Davis Hall, 135th Street and Convent Avenue, by The City College Center for the Arts in partnership with the Division of Humanities and Arts. New Musical COMFORT WOMEN Opens Today
Comfort Women: A New Musical, directed by Dimo Hyun Jun Kim with musical direction by TekGoo Kang. Written by Dimo Hyun Jun Kim, Osker David Aguirre, and Joann Malory Mieses, with music by Bryan Michaels and TaeHo Park. The new musical will be staged at Theatre St. Clements 423 W. 46th Street, New York City starting July 31st for a limited two-week run, ending Sunday August 9th.
