HBO has greenlit IRMA VEP, a limited series written and directed by Olivier Assayas and starring and executive produced by Alicia Vikander, it was announced today by Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming. Loosely based on Assayas’ 1996 feature film of the same name, A24 is producing the limited series along with Kevin Turen and Sam Levinson.

Climate Change Theatre Action To Offer Play Readings By Teen Actors As Part Of Festival Albertine 2019

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Albertine Books are pleased to announce that Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA), an initiative of the Arctic Cycle, which uses theatre to foster dialogue about the global climate crisis, will offer play four play readings, featuring teen actors, as part of Festival Albertine 2019. Curated by celebrated author and environmentalist Bill McKibben, the weekend-long festival focuses on climate chaos and the race to prevent civilization-scale collapse, and features lead prominent thinkers, politicians, activists, artists, and authors from across the U.S., France, and the francophone world, November 8-10. The CCTA readings take place prior to the discussions on November 9 and 10.

French Institute Alliance Francaise Presents Isabelle Huppert

The French Institute Alliance Française celebrates the career of Isabelle Huppertpresenting a special evening with the iconic French actress and a CinéSalon series devoted to her on-screen work from March 5 to April 23. Atlantic Theater Company is proud to announce that Little Known Facts at Atlantic, a live podcast hosted by Ilana Levine, will be returning as a full series this spring. Sundance Film Festival Announces Juries, Awards Night Host

Sundance Institute will gather 20 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with 12 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 2 that will be livestreamed at sundance.org and on YouTube. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 29 and will also be livestreamed. The Festival takes place January 24 through February 3 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.
Palm Springs International Film Festival Announces Festival Line-Up

 The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced that the festival's opening night will be the screening of All is True directed by Kenneth Branagh on Friday, January 4.  The festival will close with Ladies in Black, directed by Bruce Beresford on Sunday, January 13. The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019.  The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.

The film first screened in North America at the prestigious Toronto and New York Film Festivals. 2018 marks the 100th Anniversary of Ingmar Bergman's birth.
