Theatre East's 5X5 Drama Series Returns This Week
The 2022 5X5 Drama Series kicks off on November 30th. The series was founded in 2016 to bring great new plays beyond the footlights and into nontraditional spaces like breweries, rooftops, and taverns to provide an immersive and unique audience experience.
Theatre East Announces 2022-2023 Season
Theatre East launches the season with the 5X5 Drama Series: The Empty Stage running Nov 30-Dec 3. The 5X5 Drama Series will feature five new short plays by five of Theatre East's writers-in-residence: Travis Tate, Shaun Bennet Fauntleroy, Adam Kraar, Jeff Athey, and Oliver Palmer. Fulfilling Theatre East's core belief of making theatre accessible to all, tickets will be available by suggested donation.

SWEATPANT Confronts Depression And Masculinity In World Premiere
Sweatpant chronicles how the forces of depression and masculinity impact the lives of roommates living together in New York City. Sam and his roommate are faced with the realities of depression in a society that has long stigmatized mental health. In an effort to seek treatment and growth, Sam and his roommate must first process through the influence of masculinity and how it impacts accessibility of treatment and had long stigmatized acknowledgment of depression.
Karen Allen To Star In Final Reading; Yale Scholar To Give Agatha Christie Talk At Dorset Theatre Festival
Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will present A Stage of Twilight by Sarah T. Schwab on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. This is the third reading of the acclaimed Pipeline Series of three one-night-only presentations of new work. The play was most recently read at the Berkshire Theatre Group in August 2018, also starring Allen. The reading at Dorset will be directed by the Festival's artistic director, Dina Janis.
