Oli completed a Bachelor of Music (Composition) with Honours in 2015 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and is currently employed as the composer in residence and composition teacher at Meriden School.
Since 2012, he has had pieces performed in New York and Rio de Janeiro as part of Vox Novus, and had a projected collaborative work included in USYD's Vivid program in 2015.
In 2014, Oli co-curated The Cosmos Project with Kezia Yap and Cassie To, which saw the collaboration of composers and visual artists from the Sydney Conservatorium, SCA and NAS. Subsequently, Oli collaborated with Yoon Park for an audio-visual work featured as part of Verge Gallery's Order/Disorder Exhibit in 2014, and 2018’s HUSH at 107 Redfern. Oli has received choral and chamber commissions from Shore School and Meriden School, and a number of private commissions including work with Sideband with Peter McNamara, and UTS and AFTRS short films: Before I Go and Bowie.
In 2016, Oli had one of his graduating pieces, Convection, broadcast as part of 102.5 Fine Music's Young Virtuosi Program, and in 2017 was commissioned by LDV Automotive Australia to compose music for the launch of their 2018 range. In 2017, he also composed original music for Weathervane and SUDS's joint production of In Two Circles, an interactive theatre experience.
In 2017, Oli launched Flaming Howard Productions with Sophia Roberts and wrote and composed the music for The Colour Orange: The Pauline Hanson Musical. After winning the Critic's Pick award at the 2017 Sydney Fringe Festival, the troupe has performed the production at Sideshow Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival 2018, and Adelaide Fringe Festival 2018 where they were awarded the Emerging Artist Award.
Oli is working on another musical, always, via emails to himself.
