BWW Review: THE BOY AT THE EDGE OF EVERYTHING at Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre: An Imaginative Journey to the Edge and Back
Becoming a teenager can be hard. It can be hard as they transition from wanting to be treated like a kid and wanting to be treated like an adult. These become the formative years where interest starts to form that will impact the career path they decide to go down in their lives. This weekend, Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre is taking us on a journey with a kid who is entering getting ready to become a teenager in 'The Boy at the Edge of Everything' by Finegan Kruckmeyer. This production, which explores how far a kid's imagination can go, plays at the Stoner Theatre through February 23.
Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2019 Short Film Lineup
The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its 2019 lineup of 63 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 31 world premieres. This year's shorts program includes a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers, curated from a record 5131 submissions with female filmmakers directing 45% of the selections. The short films will be presented in 11 distinct competition programs, consisting of six narrative, four documentary, and one animation program. There will also be special screening programs for the annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival and the debut of shorts from The Queen Collective, a program aimed at accelerating gender and racial equality behind the camera. The 2019 shorts lineup is programmed by Sharon Badal and Ben Thompson. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.
Fleet Foxes Share 'Icicle Tusk'
Ahead of Fleet Foxes' forthcoming special limited-edition First Collection 2006 – 2009 release on November 9, the band shares its song “Icicle Tusk,” which was originally released on the self-released The Fleet Foxes EP in April 2006 in an extremely limited quantity of fewer than 200 copies.
Fleet Foxes Share 'Isles'
Fleet Foxes recently announced a special limited-edition collection to mark the 10th anniversary of their debut album, entitled First Collection 2006 – 2009, to be released by Nonesuch in Europe and Sub Pop for the rest of the world on November 9, 2018. Today, the band have shared their song “Isles,” originally released in 2008 as the b-side to the UK 7” single for “White Winter Hymnal”. As-yet-unreleased in any form outside of the UK and Europe, “Isles” is included on the B-Sides and Rarities 10” or CD.
Fleet Foxes Announce FIRST COLLECTION 2006 - 2009
Fleet Foxes have announced a special limited-edition collection to mark the 10th anniversary of their debut album, entitled First Collection 2006 – 2009, to be released by Nonesuch in Europe and Sub Pop for the rest of the world on November 9, 2018. The package features content spanning the early days of Fleet Foxes' career, including the self-titled full-length debut album on 12” vinyl, as well as the Sun Giant EP on 10” vinyl and the first vinyl releases of both the very limited-edition, previously only self-released The Fleet Foxes EP on 10” and B-sides & Rarities on 10”. See full tracklisting below. In addition to its musical offerings, the release will feature a 32-page booklet including show flyers, lyrics, and artwork from the period. The special edition will also be released on CD and on all digital platforms.
