Woodie King Jr.'s New Federal Theatre (NFT) held a festive Gala Benefit on Sunday, June 26 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM at Trump Place, 220 Riverside Boulevard (enter West 70th Street) honoring Novella Nelson and Melvin Van Peebles, two of many actors and directors who have worked at NFT over the theatre's 46 year history. Dana Ivey, Richard Thomas, Bill Raymond and other notable actors and directors will lead the applause as Hartford Stage celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Three events create the capstone of the year-long festivities: same day performances of La Dispute and Macbeth on Saturday, November 2; a 50-Year Retrospective: A Conversation with all Five Artistic Directors at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 3; and the Hartford Stage 50th Anniversary Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 4.

Signature Theatre has announced a third and final one week extension for the World Premiere of Horton Foote's THEOLD FRIENDS, directed by Michael Wilson. The production will now play its final performance on Sunday, October 20. THE OLD FRIENDS opened to critical acclaim on September 12 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.

Signature Theatre has announced an additional one-week extension for the World Premiere of Horton Foote's THE OLD FRIENDS, directed by Michael Wilson. The production will now play through Sunday, October 13. THE OLD FRIENDS opened to critical acclaim on September 12 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Limited $25 subsidized tickets remain for the production's initial run. Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.
