Guthrie Theater's Summer Training Program For M.F.A. Actors Resumes In 2022
The Guthrie Theater has announced the return of its summer acting program, A Guthrie Experience, following a four-year hiatus. Founded in 1997 under the leadership of Kenneth Washington, A Guthrie Experience brings M.F.A. actors from around the country to the Twin Cities for a seven-week intensive and performance experience.

BEYOND BABEL to Return Off-Broadway This Fall
The dance theatre hit Beyond Babel will return to New York this fall to complete the final eight weeks of its original Off-Broadway run. Performances will begin again on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street).

BEYOND BABEL Suspends Performances Until April
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and health of their audiences and artists, the lead producers of Beyond Babel have decided to suspend performances for the remainder of March and first week of April 2020. The critically acclaimed production will go on hiatus immediately following the 8pm performance tonight, Thursday, March 12.

Smith Street Stage will present its first full-length off-Broadway show in September with Lear's Shadow, an original adaptation by Ms. Hopkins of Shakespeare's King Lear. With Les Liaisons Dangereuses, we have byzantine complexity and unreal psychology. Doesn't sound like the sort of thing that would keep readers and theatergoers keep coming back. Yet somehow, almost inexplicably, this slightly pornographic extravaganza of obscurity and nastiness continues to claim our attention. Never mind why; some things just are that way.
