Royal Court Reveals Additional Two Associate Playwrights
Following an extensive national open call-out, the Royal Court Theatre has today announced that Ishy Din (Approaching Empty) and Beth Flintoff (Henry I) will complete the team of Associate Playwrights at the Royal Court, announced earlier this year.
Royal Court Reveals New Associate Playwrights
David Byrne, Artistic Director of the Royal Court, has announced that Mike Bartlett (Love, Love, Love), Ryan Calais Cameron (For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy), Vinay Patel (An Adventure) and Nina Segal (Shooting Hedda Gabler) will join the Royal Court as Associate Playwrights, alongside Gillian Greer (Boy Parts) as Associate Playwright and Dramaturg who joined the organisation earlier in this year.

A modern adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's tragic story of Hedda Gabler, reframed to reflect the #MeToo movement sounds both intriguing and promising. Nina Segal's version captures the claustrophobia and anguish of the original, while setting it against a very modern framework, but it suffers from a lack of pace at times.
Full Casting Announced for Premiere of SHOOTING HEDDA GABLER
Rose Theatre has announced full casting for the premiere of Shooting Hedda Gabler, a Rose Original Production in association with The Norwegian Ibsen Company, a new play by Nina Segal after Henrik Ibsen, directed by Jeff James. Antonia Thomas plays the role of Hedda, with Christian Rubeck as Henrik, Avi Nash as Ejlert, joined by Anna Andresenas Berta, Matilda Bailes as Thea, and Joshua James as Jørgen. The Casting Director is Sam Jones CDG.
SDCF Reveals 2023 Barbara Whitman Award Recipient and Finalists
Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced the recipient and five finalists for the 2023 Barbara Whitman Award. Established by theatrical producer Barbara Whitman in 2021, the award recognizes a female, trans, or non-binary early-career director who has demonstrated a unique vision in their work with an unrestricted $10,000 cash prize.
Sheffield Theatres Announces Casting For THE GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN
Sheffield Theatres has announced the full cast for their new production of The Good Person of Szechwan, marking the 80th anniversary of Bertolt Brecht's popular play. Commissioned by ETT and co-produced by Sheffield Theatres, ETT and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, this new version by Nina Segal is directed by Sheffield Theatres' RTYDS Associate Artistic Director Anthony Lau (Anna Karenina).
