Catskill's acclaimed Bridge Street Theatre tackles yet another classic of dramatic literature, Anton Chekhov's haunting “Uncle Vanya”. Irish playwright Conor McPherson provides a vibrant, earthy, and surprisingly comedic new adaptation of this most intimate and heartbreaking of Chekhov's dramatic works, to be presented in BST's 84-seat “Priscilla” Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street, for a two-weekend run May 9 – 19, 2024.

Harold Wolpert To Step Down As Signature Theatre Executive Director
Signature Theatre today announced that its Executive Director, Harold Wolpert, will depart the institution on June 30, having helped to steer it through the COVID-19 pandemic. He has decided to leave to pursue change in the field more broadly, from outside of an institution for the first time in his three-decade career to date.

Works & Process At The Guggenheim Presents OCTET By Dave Malloy
Three-time Tony Award-nominee Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) begins his residency as Signature's first musical theatre writer with the world premiere of Octet, a musical directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet). Featuring a score for an a cappella chamber choir and an original libretto inspired by internet comment boards, scientific debates, religious texts, and Sufi poetry, Octet explores addiction and nihilism within the messy context of 21st century technology. Artistic director Paige Evans moderates a discussion with Malloy and Tippe, with cast members performing highlights prior to the premiere.

Harold Wolpert Named Executive Director of Signature Theatre
Signature Theatre's Board of Trustees (Edward Norton, Chairman, and Nina Matis, President) announced today the appointment of Harold Wolpert as Executive Director of the Tony Award-winning company beginning April 2, 2018. He will serve alongside Artistic Director Paige Evans, who joined Signature in 2016. Mr. Wolpert is a three-time Tony Award-winner who has served in leadership roles at some of the country's premiere cultural organizations, including Roundabout Theater Company, where he was Managing Director until 2016.
