Niles Rivers, the Artist
Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Niles Rivers was hungry for more. Though he was grateful to develop his talents in his parent's 'art-incubator' of a home and on stage doing community theatre, he set his sights on a new horizon. “My community in Cleveland was like a bubble. I had to get out...I had to see the world.”
So, after graduating high school Niles bolted for L.A. Within his first few weeks, Niles was heard by super-producer David Foster and inked a recording deal with Foster's 143/Atlantic Records. While signed to Foster, Niles worked on his own project of original songs with a Who’s Who of incredible songwriters, producers and musicians. David Foster (Producer) and
John Leventhal (Producer) collaborated with Niles and together they co-wrote several incredible songs for the project. The list of greats who also lent their talent includes: John Robinson (drummer), Steve Lukather (guitarist), Brian Bromberg (bassist), John Pattitucci (bassist), Shawn Pelton (drummer), Rick Dipofi (saxophone, co-production), Bob Clearmountain (mixing, production) and many others.
That was only the beginning. Soon, Niles wrote and produced the song “The Best Love” for recording artist Christopher Williams and was chosen by the artist, Prince as winner of his songwriting contest. Niles then entered into a production partnership with the late Miles Davis’ nephew and estate executor, Vince Wilburn, Jr. That partnership opened doors for Niles to work with such legendary greats as: Phil Upchurch, Billy Preston (late), Russ Ferrante, Bob Hirsch...and many more. After finishing a group of recordings and mixing sessions, Niles Rivers received an Ovation Award nomination for Featured Actor in a Musical for the role of “Victor” in Smokey Joe’s Cafe. Recently, Niles was seen in the Las Vegas cast of Disney’s The Lion King and garnered a reputation as one of the best “Simba’s” ever! Actor, singer, musician...artist.
Niles Rivers is definitely one to watch!
