The National Music & Global Culture Society will present the rising Norwegian star, violinist Eldbørg Hemsing and internationally noted Azerbaijani pianist Nargiz Aliyarova in recital at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center (111 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10023) on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2019 at 7 pm. The program-entitled 'From East to West'-will focus on solo and chamber works from both Norway and Azerbaijan.
'Hold Tight, Shine Bright' Album to Benefit Detained Immigrant Children
Responding to the plight of thousands of immigrant and refugee children who are still being held in federal detention centers around the country, 25 of the top artists in family music have banded together to create Hold Tight, Shine Bright, a compilation album iof 27 songs with a basic goal in mind-the preservation and promotion of love, hope and family. Hold Tight, Shine Bright will be available on August 31 via iTunes.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the cast and creative team for He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, the first new work in a decade from Adrienne Kennedy, whom The New York Times called one of the finest living American playwrights. Set in Georgia and New York City in 1941, He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box is a heartbreaking, nail-biting memory tale of segregation, theatrical yearning, and doomed love.
Rox in Sox 2016 Set for 7/30 in Portland
For the fourth year in a row, Rox in Sox, will host a free festival of children's music and reading, on Saturday, July 30, 10 am to 3 pm. Headlining this year's festival will be OzoKidz, the percussive, world-beat family band of Ozomatli, who will be in town for a show for grown-ups at the Aladdin the evening prior, July 29th. The Portland shows are part of Ozomatli's national concert tour.
SB Arts Groups Set for Santa Barbara Symphony Opener
Four area arts organizations will come together for an ambitious, multidisciplinary production of German composer Carl Orff's epic cantata Carmina Burana to open the Santa Barbara Symphony's 2015-16 season on October 17 and 18.
