Arts And Education Council Announces New Board Chair and Members
The Arts and Education Council announced today that Caren Vredenburgh, former senior director, creative services at Caleres, has been elected as the nonprofit's new board chair. Vredenburgh has served on the board for seven years. Four members of the board of directors have also been elected. Jeffrey D. Carter, M.D., Naretha Hopson, Janet Newcomb and Solomon Thurman, Jr. were each elected to a three-year term beginning January 1. Newly-elected Young Friends of the Arts President Alexandra Schenk, marketing director at Capes Sokol, also joined the board as an ex officio member.

Celtic Thunder just made an appearance at New York City's Beacon Theatre.
Backed by the amazing Celtic Thunder Band, the singers (Damian McGinty, Ryan Kelly, Michael O'Dwyer, Emmet Cahill & Neil Byrne) deliver new ensemble numbers including 'Sons of Light,' 'Toora, Loora, Lay,' 'The Wild Rover,' 'Right all right,' and 'Castle on the Hill' followed in the second act by nostalgic fun songs like 'Celebration,' 'I'm a Believer,' 'Seasons in the Sun' and 'Rise Again.' No Celtic Thunder show would be complete without an encore of their rousing anthem 'Ireland's Call,' the only song in Celtic Thunder X that isn't a new song but which never fails to bring the audience to its feet.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Annenberg Foundation, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, the Aspen Institute Arts Program, and Citizen University, presents the 2018 Kennedy Center Arts Summit: The Future States of America: Using the Arts to Take Us Where We Want to Go. Taking place on Monday, April 16, 2018, in the Kennedy Center Theater Lab and adjoining spaces, the annual spring convening brings thought leaders from the arts and related fields together for conversation and connection.

With sales surpassing one million combined units, the wildly entertaining Celtic Thunder pay homage to the musical culture of Ireland with their new CD and DVD concert special, Heritage.
In the New York area the concert special, Heritage, is being aired on WLIW TV 21 (WLIW.ORG) who had pledges for tickets and a Meet and Greet with members of Celtic Thunder as one of the premiums.
