Classical Pianist Brian Ganz Performs 10th Anniversary Chopin Concert At Strathmore
Internationally acclaimed pianist Brian Ganz celebrates a decade into his sojourn of performing the complete works of Frédéric Chopin with a?oeChopin: The Growth of Geniusa?? at The Music Center at Strathmore at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020. The entire concert will be marked by Ganz's signature a?oemusical gardeninga??: Ganz will showcase Chopin's growth as a composer by showing how early waltzes, polonaises, nocturnes, and marches demonstrate the seed of his genius, followed by more mature examples of the same genres. This is the first time Ganz has employed this technique for the course of an entire performance. a?oeI'm especially excited to alter this year's concert by foraying into the technique and growth of Chopin's musical works over the years,a?? said Ganz, who will perform five episodes of musical gardening a?" three before intermission, and two afterward.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is directed by Robert Wells, recently at Town Hall directing the 2014 production of Boeing-Boeing. Musical direction is by Donna Kolpan Debreceni, Henry Award Winner, The Who's Tommy and choreographed by Kelly Kates, most recently here for the 2014 production of The Music Man.

The two shows will run in repertory, Fridays through Sundays, and will both close on August 16. All performances will be at the John Hand Theater, 7653 E. 1st Place, Denver. The shows will be directed by Katie Mangett (Boeing, Boeing) and Luke Allen Terry (Don't Dress for Dinner).
