Nick Mitchell has been an active actor/director in Western Pennsylvania since moving here from NYC 10 years ago. Recent directing highlights include the critically acclaimed [title of show] for The Company of Pittsburgh and Assassins at Stage 62 in Carnegie, PA. He has directed for MLT, Mon River Arts, the Pittsburgh Savoyards, 12 Peers, Cup-a-Jo, South Park Theater, The Academy Theatre, and numerous other local companies. Nick also directed Americana Theatre Company's first holiday production, It's a Wonderful Life: the Live Radio Play in Plymouth, Mass in 2015. Favorite roles onstage have been Elliot Garfield (The Goodbye Girl), Cyrano (Cyrano de Bergerac), Max (both Lend Me a Tenor and The Producers), Dan Kaffee (A Few Good Men), and Rudolpho (A View from the Bridge). Mr. Mitchell has also acted alongside Tony Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Tony LoBianco in Carnival and Fiorello!, respectively. Nick has worked for the Pittsburgh CLO for 10 years with their Gallery of Heroes tour and at their Performing Arts Academy. He also was the Assistant Director to David Bell for the CLO's A Musical Christmas Carol starring Patrick Page. He recently completed Pittsburgh City Theatre's year-long Directing Observership and is currently the resident director at Plum High School. Nick majored in Music Theater at Oklahoma City University where he was in Florence Birdwell's voice studio and studied directing with Dr. David Herendeen.
