This December, the Abbey Theatre will present Abbey Calling - a new initiative, bringing brilliant pieces of literature directly into the homes of those feeling isolated. A partnership with mental health charity, Aware, Abbey Calling sees 50 of Ireland's leading actors make up to 2,000 phone calls.

St. Ann's Warehouse, responding to popular demand nearly two months before performances begin, has extended the celebrated Gate Theatre Dublin production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by Yaël Farber and featuring Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga (Loving, AMC's 'Preacher'), in a 'mesmerizing' (Irish Times) American stage debut, as the Dane. With Farber's direction and text edit, the focus shifts from Hamlet's anguish and identity to the force of resistance against the raw usurpation of power. The production, which begins February 1, 2020, will now play an additional week, through March 8, 2020.
Abbey Theatre Announces Winter Season
Directors of the Abbey Theatre, Graham McLaren and Neil Murray, today announced two productions set to delight audiences this winter. The first, a major new Abbey Theatre production, from the Irish canon, of Drama at Inish; followed by Collapsing Horse's A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, a magical show for all the family.

Rupert Goold's critically acclaimed production of Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, which recouped its production costs last month, will complete run as scheduled at the Duke of York's Theatre on 3 January 2009.
