BWW Review: CABARET at The Argyle Theatre

Between college productions and the many local theatres on Long Island, it may seem there is always a production of the Kander and Ebb classic Cabaret running. However, when you have a wonderful production like the one at the Argyle Theatre, it indeed warrants another look. Excellently directed by Evan Pappas, who also serves as the theatre's Arttistic Director, and Sara Brians, who also serves as Choreographer, this superb incarnation of the Tony winning musical runs at the adorable Babylon venue through October 24th boasting a stellar cast.

Adapted and directed by Chris Henry, Anne of Green Gables: Part 1 is now celebrating its World Premiere at the Royal Family Performing Arts Center, located in the heart of Times Square; it is nothing short of mesmerizing, a production that casts a spell upon its audience, beckoning them to watch this adored character make her way from whimsical orphan to the "interesting" little girl who falls under the care and protection of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert.

BWW Reviews: Rhubarb Celebrates Its 10th Season With Revival of BIRDS IN CHURCH

There are some lovely moments to be found in Birds in Church, the latest production from Nashville's Rhubarb Theatre-a refashioning of the company's first production almost ten years ago, both of which feature vignettes selected from among playwright and former priest Joe Pintauro's Metropolitan Operas. There are lovely moments, to be certain, along with some that are almost riotously funny, genuinely moving and clearly provocative.
BWW Reviews: How'd They Do That? Circle Players Delivers Fresh Take on HAIRSPRAY

Luckily (for me and for you, the rest of the audience who may or may not have seen the show in any of its multiple onstage incarnations), director Patrick Kramer, choreographer Kate Adams-Johnson and musical director Randy Craft have fashioned a rendition of Hairspray-that indomitable musical about one determined and ambitious Baltimore teenager in 1962-that fairly snaps, crackles and pops with its fresh delivery, its clever staging and the laudable and thoroughly committed performances of a cast of thousands.
