The Holocaust is not an easy subject to tackle. Balancing storytelling without over-indulging in trauma whilst being respectful is a delicate affair. For every Schindler’s List there are swathes of plays, books, and films that drown themselves in schmaltz. The Most Precious of Goods can be added to that list.
Marylebone Theatre Reveals Spring 2024 Season
Marylebone Theatre has announced an exciting Spring 2024 season of drama and dance. The season includes a contemporary adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s Dream of a Ridiculous Man by Laurence Boswell; famed poet Sir Ben Okri presents Revolution Earth; the moving The Most Precious of Goods is translated and directed by Nicholas Kent; and Marylebone Theatre presents its first dance pieces.

Starring Bianca Flanders and Dean Balie, the play follows two out-of-luck and out-of-love souls in a hilarious and captivating whirlwind adventure of a weekend. Nicolas Kent, the London-based, award-winning director at the helm of the production, chats to Broadway World South Africa about his directorial beginnings at university, international aspirations, and involvement in this anticipated production.
Sherman Cymru's DEEP CUT Comes To The Tricycle Theater
Sherman Cymru's hit production, Deep Cut, which received critical acclaim and won numerous awards at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, will open at London's Tricycle Theatre this March.
Winner of a Scotsman Fringe Fringe First, Herald Angel, the Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award and both Best Actress (Rhian Blythe) and Best Actor (Ciaran McIntyre) at the Stage Awards for Acting Excellence, Deep Cut was one of the must see shows of the Edinburgh Festival. The rights to the play have now been optioned by Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton's company Revolution Films and a screenplay is currently in development.
