Traverse Theatre Company Celebrates Record Breaking Spell Of Touring
The Traverse Theatre is excited that March-June 2019 will mark a record breaking spell of touring for the company - with five homegrown full productions touring to 15 different locations, in four continents, totaling 111 individual performances over 51 days. During that period, over one busy day - 17 April - we will have four productions playing in four different locations simultaneously.
Traverse's MOUTHPIECE Comes To Soho
Following a sold out, critically-acclaimed run at the Traverse Theatre in 2018, Fringe First winner Kieran Hurley brings Mouthpiece to Soho. The production, directed by former Traverse Artistic Director Orla O'Loughlin, sees Neve McIntosh (Doctor Who, BBC; The Replacement, BBC) and Lorn Macdonald (Outlander, Starz!; Trainspotting, Citizen's Theatre) reprise their roles. A frank, funny and unflinching look at the polarities of social inequality in a city, Mouthpiece asks when does the portrayal of poverty become poverty porn?
BWW Review: KILLER JOE, Trafalgar Studios
After spending several months as the Trafalgar Fair, a Texas trailer park takes root at Trafalgar Studios as a new production of Tracy Letts' Killer Joe begins its run. It is directed by Simon Evans, who previously helmed a production of Letts' Bug at the short-lived venue Found111 - the show also marks the return of Orlando Bloom to the London stage, starring alongside Steffan Rhodri, Neve McIntosh, Sophie Cookson and Adam Gillen.
