Deborah Humble to Give Adelaide Concert
Lovers of opera will be delighted with the opportunity to hear the incomparable voice of international Mezzo-Soprano Deborah Humble who, accompanied by pianist Sharolyn Kemmorley AM and the ASO's Imants Larsens, performs in Adelaide on 11 February. Deborah will join the audience for afternoon tea following the performance. which is included in the ticket price.
Thomas Hampson Gives Master Class and Webcast at Manhattan School of Music Today
Thomas Hampson will be at Manhattan School of Music today, March 19th to give a vocal master class. This master class, a free event and open to the public, takes place at 4:00 p.m. in the School's Greenfield Recital Hall, and will be streamed live by going to http://dl.msmnyc.edu/live. The master class will be given in collaboration with MSM's world renowned Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department, headed by Christianne Orto, Dean of Distance Learning and Recording Arts at Manhattan School of Music.

Northwest Houston's longest-running all volunteer playhouse, Theatre Suburbia, opened their 53rd season with Houston-based playwright Mary Jane Taegel's comedy GOING BARE. The romantic comedy about a doctor who drops his malpractice insurance and promptly gets sued for 4.2 million dollars was first produced in Los Angeles, where it won a Best New Play award from Theatre Americana. In 2002, GOING BARE was both published and optioned for a film.

This November, in Juilliard School's Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Anne Manson will conduct the U.S. premiere of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' Kommilitonen! (Young Blood!) - an opera co-commissioned by Juilliard and the Royal Academy of Music - which received its world premiere in London this past March to remarkable critical acclaim. The production opens Juilliard's 2011-12 Vocal Arts season on Wednesday, November 16 at 8 PM, with additional performances on Friday, November 18 at 8 PM and Sunday, November 20 at 2 PM. David Pountney, librettist of the opera, provides stage direction, sets and costumes are by Robert Innes Hopkins, and choreography is by Carolum Choa.
