The Broadway Green Alliance Announces Upcoming Free Green Quarantine Seminars
The Broadway Green Alliance has announced two up-coming free GREEN QUARANTINE virtual seminars on November 19th and December 10th. The series of free virtual learning opportunities began in March 2020 as a way to channel the collective creative problem-solving, community building, and storytelling skills of the theatre community.
Alliance Announces Playwriting Competition Winner & Finalists
The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists. Sheltered, the 14th competition winner, is the story of one American couple's harrowing decision to rescue 50 Jewish children from Europe during WWII. Sheltered is written by Alix Sobler who recently earned her MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University. During the Alliance's season-long renovation, Sheltered will be staged at Actor's Express, March 1 - 25, 2018.

The two-character play features Academy Award-nominee Michael Shannon as producer Felix Artifex and Mierka Girten as his assistant Esther, with puppetry by Sam Deutsch, and reunites the creative team of the Off-Broadway smash hit Bug Bullard, Shannon and Barrow Street. The 16-week limited engagement began performances November 5, 2010 at the Barrow Street Theatre. Opening night is Sunday evening, November 14, 2010.
