Review: MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley
Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberly might be my favorite secular Holiday offering – a shining jewel that follows the Bennet sisters of Jane Austin fame attempt at a cheery Xmas week mired by romantic foibles reminiscent of a good Shakespeare play. Award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson developed this play, co-authoring the Christmas at Pemberley plays (Miss Bennet, The Wickhams, and Georgiana and Kitty) with Margot Melcon, former director of new play development at Marin Theatre Company. They have become beloved staples at TheatreWorks and this production shines through its stellar casting and excellent creative crew.
Interview: SPENCER PLACHY of DRACULA at CLASSICAL THEATRE COMPANY
I've tried to draw as much from the novel as I possibly could. I have seen a handful of film depictions. There's one thing in the novel that Van Helsing mentions about how Dracula has what Van Helsing calls a child's brain. That being undead, you are reborn at that moment, and much of your experience of the world around you starts over.
Review: DRACULA at CLASSICAL THEATRE COMPANY
Houston’s CLASSICAL THEATRE COMPANY has decided to take it back to the original written word and return Dracula to the status of a demon rather than a lover. And yet, somehow, they have cast Spencer Plachy, who is the most swoon-worthy actor Houston has, a man who has embodied Mr. Darcy for years. Also, a man sexy enough to star in the Broadway tour of THE LION KING shirtless as Scar. It’s wild to see Darcy do Dracula and do it as a feral animal to boot.
See what our critic had to say.
Interview: Katy Psenicka of SLEEPY HOLLOW at Shadowbox Live!
Growing up, Katy Psenicka admits she didn’t listen to the radio the way her peers did. While her friends were jamming to country and western, pop music, or rock classics, the chief choreographer for Shadowbox Live! heard the notes but saw movement.

Following a near sellout season at the Sydney Opera House and an overwhelming response to the initial Melbourne season announcement, the producers of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE An Adaptation in Words and Music have released an additional four performances to the Arts Centre Melbourne season in the Fairfax Studio.
