The Solti Foundation U.S. Announces 2018 Recipient Of The Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award
Penny Van Horn, Board Chair of The Solti Foundation U.S. and Elizabeth Buccheri, Artistic and Awards Committee Chair, announced today the Foundation's ninth grant, The Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, to Roderick Cox, Associate Conductor of the 114-year old Minnesota Orchestra. The $30,000 grant is the largest grant awarded to young American conductors in the United States.

The Minnesota Orchestra announced plans today for Sommerfest 2018, unveiling a series of “Music for Mandela” concerts and events, in connection with a worldwide celebration of the late Nobel Peace Prize-winning South African leader and human rights advocate Nelson Mandela on the centenary of his birth.

On the heels of that success, the company, on the request of the new InFringe Festival, is reviving their hit original adaptation of the Miklos Lazlos romantic comedy, 'The Shop Around the Corner,' November 17th through the 19th at the Valiant Theatre and Lounge.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's Preeminent Gilbert & Sullivan Repertory company, launches its new and exciting 2016-17 Season with two new jewel-box productions of Cox and Box along with Trial by Jury! The 42nd season will kick-off on Saturday, October 29th at Off-Broadway's intimate Marjorie S. The production opened February 20, 2014 and will extend for the second time through June 29, 2014.
