Battery Dance Announces $1 Virtual Workshops
Battery Dance announces $1 virtual classes, continuing the tradition of offering 'free' workshops as part of the Battery Dance Festival. There will be nine diverse workshops taught by choreographers from around the world over Zoom. The hour-long classes will run August 14-22, 2020, beginning at 10am EDT each day. Zoom links will be provided after registration. Reservation cost of $1 is non-refundable.

Dance Umbrella Africa 2019 Re-launches at the South African State Theatre
The eagerly anticipated re-launch of Dance Umbrella Africa 2019 from 31 March to 7 April at the South African State Theatre will feature South Africa and the world's most prolific dancers and choreographers including Lulu Mlangeni, Sonia Radebe and Julia Burnham, Phumlani Nyanga, Dirk Badenhorst, German-Austrian Helge Letonja, Madagascar's Gaby Saranouffi, and works from dance companies such as Vuyani Dance Theatre and Moving Into Dance Mophatong.

The annual Baxter Dance Festival is back for the thirteenth time, ready to wow audiences with over 64 new pieces by 73 choreographers over a period of eight days. Headlining this year's festival is the commissioned work by choreographer, dancer and teacher Themba Mbuli of the acclaimed SOLD! and ADAGIO FOR A HACKED LIFE.
