BIO
MORGAN SMITH-They are a librettist, playwright, producer, and lyricist. Morgan also writes fiction while studying English at New York University. Their short fiction has been published in the US and internationally, winning awards in national contests like the Faulkner Literary Competition. They currently work at The Trans Lab, which has reinvigorated their desire to write diverse stories. They are an alumni of programs at Yale, Juilliard, and Bryn Mawr College. Morgan is the playwright of Ogygia and Oceanborn, both of which premiered Off- Broadway in 2019, making them the youngest playwright to do so. Written by Matt Chiorini and Travis Newton, Kafka's Metamorphosis: The Musical! With Puppets! is pretty much what is written on the tin - an adaptation of Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis told using songs and puppets. Audience members are greeted by a performer sitting on stage, facing away from them towards artwork of a cockroach.
