Review: THE CHER SHOW at Curran Theatre
The Cher Show blows through town faster than the multitude of Bob Mackie costume changes and we’re better off for it. Even die-hard Cher fanatics had a challenging time mustering excitement for this tired jukebox musical, settling for the flash and cheese of 60’s style comic vignettes rather than delving into perhaps some interesting insight into the resilient pop icon who bucked the male dominated entertainment scene.
Review: THE CHER SHOW at THEATRE UNDER THE STARS
I am unsure if I know of any other music diva who needs three different actresses to play her, but Cher seems to have required that. We have not one, not two, but three Chers in this show. And do they trot on, do their part of life, and leave? Heck no! They all talk to each other, advise each other, and sing together all night long. It’s like the three musketCHERs or something!
Review: THE CHER SHOW at The Stifel Theatre
THE CHER SHOW is an eye-popping traipse down memory lane but suffers from drive-by storytelling. While far from perfect as a full-fledged Broadway musical, there are plenty of wildly entertaining moments that make this show more enjoyable than it should be. It is the casting, strong vocal performances, Bob Mackie’s over-the-top costume design, Charlie Morrison’s concert-like lighting design, Jonthan Infante, and Kelly James Tighe’s visually interesting video design that give this production an entertaining musical revue feel. Fans of Cher will not be disappointed with this production. There is plenty of music, talent, glitz, glamour, and fun to satisfy.
Interview: ELLA PEREZ of THE CHER SHOW at THEATRE UNDER THE STARS
I think the biggest thing I wanted to focus on was not making it like a character and not making it like some tasteless impression. Because I don't know. It's not necessarily what the show is about, and the three of us do a really good job of “a hint of Cher.” But there's still us!
Interview: Morgan Scott On Starring in THE CHER SHOW National Tour
Cher needs only one name to be immediately identified. When it comes to dramatizing her life for the stage, however, it’s not surprising that it takes three performers to play her in the Tony Award-winning musical “The Cher Show,” which comes to the Boch Center Wang Theatre March 15–17 on its North American tour.
Review: THE CHER SHOW at Van Wezel
Cher, the pop-icon, diva, actress, fashion icon, winner of over 300+ awards, including an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar, is now a Broadway Musical! “The Cher Show” tells the story of Cher’s 60-year boundary breaking career. Cher has lived such a full life (and still rocking) that it takes 3 women to play her. Performing 35 of her songs over the course of the show, they interact and support each other onstage to tell one woman’s life story.
