BAFTA Los Angeles Grows 2019 Newcomers Program Ranks
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) today announced the 2019 participants for its prestigious Newcomers Program. Since last year's expansion to include international talent beyond the U.K., BAFTA Los Angeles has become a hub for international rising talent in the U.S., and the program continues to further deliver BAFTA's mission to promote cultural exchange and strengthen global collaboration, with its most international group yet. This year, participants hail from across the globe, with representation from the U.K., Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa and Turkey.
BAFTA Los Angeles Expands Newcomers Program to Include International Talent
Today, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA LA) announced the expansion of its Newcomers Program to include international participants for the first time. Launched in 2007 to support British talents transitioning to Los Angeles, the program recognizes the fruitful legacy of international talents moving to the U.S. to further their knowledge, develop their skills, and strengthen their network of peers.

Delving into the darkly absurd corners of corporate America and middle-man-purgatory, director Michael Sladek makes his NYC stage debut with a fresh production of Below the Belt by acclaimed playwright, Richard Dresser. Presented by Black Lodge Theater, the work will be staged in the old boiler room of the iconic Westbeth Center for the Arts.
