High Concept Labs Announces Artist Commissions

High Concept Labs (HCL) is accelerating efforts to launch an ongoing artist commissioning program through the support of the Walder Foundation as one of ten organizations selected to be curating partners for Chicago Takes 10 — a new virtual series highlighting artists and arts organizations affected by the pandemic and subsequent shut downs.

A Red Orchid Extends TRAITOR Due To Overwhelming Demand

A Red Orchid Theatre announces the extension of Traitor, an adaptation of Heinrich Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, written by Ensemble Member Brett Neveu and directed by Ensemble Member Michael Shannon, due to overwhelming demand. The production features Ensemble Members Dado, Kirsten Fitzgerald, Larry Grimm, Guy Van Swearingen and Natalie West, with Jacob Alexander, Mary Jo Bolduc, Missi Davis, Kristin Ellis, Nation Henrickson, Frank Nall and Steve Walker, featuring lighting design by Ensemble Member Mike Durst. Traitor will add Wednesday evening performances in February and now runs through March 4, 2018. 2018 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Tickets for the extension are on sale now.

The Inconvenience Names New Artistic Director

The Inconvenience is very happy to announce a new Artistic Director, as well as it's recent hiring of Development and Managing Directors. After leading the company since it's inception, Chris Chemlik is handing the reigns of Artistic Director over to Founding Member Missi Davis, who has been serving as the Executive Director and Producer. Chris is still an active and integral member of The Inconvenience, and is excited for Missi to lead the company in a new direction both creatively and within the administration. The Inconvenience also welcomes Charlie Otto as the company's Managing Director, and Joe Varisco as the new Development Director.
The New Colony & Inconvenience's B-SIDE STUDIO Now Available on DVD

It's the perfect holiday gift or stocking stuffer! The Inconvenience and The New Colony's world premiere, '70s-style sitcom B-SIDE STUDIO is now available on DVD at Amazon.com ($19.99). The original four episodes, filmed in front of a live studio audience at Chicago's The Logan Center for the Arts in the fall of 2013, have been edited and remastered into eight shorter episodes.
