BWW Review: THE 2018 WORLD CHOREOGRAPHY AWARDS OCTOBER 23, 2018 at The Saban Theatre
Produced and Presented by Cheryl Baxter-Ratliff and Allen Walls, in association with Break The Floor and held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA, there was an overwhelming turnout within the Dance Community to this event. There were reportedly 1,400 people attending.
It was a spectacular evening! The all -inclusive 8th Annual WORLD CHOREOGRAPHY AWARDS. Because this is the 8th Annual Awards Ceremony, I feel a change has evolved regarding categories up for Awards. Wider acceptance of all forms of Dance, Interpretive Movement, new forms of technology and genres not considered previously. All-Inclusive is a modern term, but it's great to see that the WCA is embracing and incorporating so many more possibilities that qualify for our consideration.

BWW Review: SENIOR STAR SEARCH a Resounding Success
On Sunday July 12 the Pink Lady Jackie Goldberg and her producer partners Barbara Van Orden and Amanda Blake Secola presented their unique Senior Star Search competition for the very first year 2015 to a sold out crowd at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Barnsdall Park, Hollywood. It was such a resounding success, a real love affair with the public, that hopefully the event will be an annual occurrence. Seniors perform exceedingly well, as well as anyone at any age. Age has nothing to do with talent and drive, a fact which was assuredly proved during the course of this show. All contestants ranged in age from 55 and up with the oldest contestant Nick Pietroforte, age 86. Accompanist for the program was maestro par excellence Ron Snyder.

Singer/Pianist Extraordinaire Steve Ross Makes a Rare LA Appearance at Vitello's
On Saturday January 12 and Sunday January 13 internationally renowned Cabaret pianist/singer Steve Ross, who has been called the 'Crown Prince of Cabaret', brought one of his many evenings of song The Music of Fred Astaire called Puttin' On the Ritz to Vitello's Upstairs in Studio City. Ross began his career, some forty years ago, primarily as a pianist, at Ted Hook's Backstage in New York. With no singing experience, he thrust himself into the spotlight singing at the piano, developing his unmatched, uncanny style of song and repartee... and the rest is history.

Firecracker Follies One Hilarious 4th of July Romp
That irrepressibly zany team that brings you the annual Fruitcake Follies in December presented for the very first time - hopefully, it will be an annual event - Firecracker Follies @ the Cavern Club Theater @ Casita del Campo in Silverlake. Believe me, folks, this democratically liberal revue turned American history upside down and rightside up and gave brand new meaning to the anthem 'This Land Is My Land'. With devilishly creative James Gray and the one and only drag impresario Momma at the helm, how could it be anything less than a total camp, an irreverant sendup a la National Lampoon and Monty Python of our great heroes and heroines and all we hold sacred as Americans?! So much PR is put out there to make us feel guilty about the war, the recession, the environment and taking advantage of our freedom, it's about time we just laid back, blamed everyone else for what's happening and had some sheer fun with it all!
