BIO

MIO INFANTE (Scenographer)




Mio designs for theatre, dance, television, live concerts, and corporate industrials. He finished his Master of Arts in Scenography / Theatre Design at the Wimbledon School of Art in London (1997) after gaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design at the University of the Philippines (1991). Born in Manila, Mio has worked with most of the major theatre companies and production houses in the Philippines

Recent design credits include RENT, the Wedding Singer (9Works Theatricals); Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, Once On This Island, M. Butterfly (Repertory Philippines); West Side Story (Stages); The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Little Mermaid, N.O.A.H. (Trumpets); American Hwangap (Tanghalang Pilipino); A Little Night Music & Avenue Q (both at Singapore’s Esplanade and Manila), Beauty in the Beast, Baby the Musical, Doubt, Legally Blonde (Atlantis); (off off b’way) Intermezzo, Nikimalika: Little Brown Brothers (MaYi Theater NYC)

Work for dance includes Ballet Philippines’ productions of Copellia, La Revolucion Filipina, Don Quixote, Elias. Scenic design for television includes Halalan 2010, Bandila, TVPatrol (ABSCBN); Sapul, Aksyon, PO5 (TV5). He serves as the Education Commission chair for PATDAT OISTAT Philippines. (Organisation Internationale des Scenographes, Techniciens et Architects du Theatre). Mio is managing partner at 9Works, Inc., an events- specialists’ production house.
