Slipstream Theater Initiative Presents UNDER THE YELLOW SIGN as Part of PENNY DREADFUL Series
It is said, there is a play that once you've read or seen, will leave your mind grasping for reality again…For one weekend only, Slipstream is thrilled to release its annual Penny Dreadful Halloween experience! Join us as we explore themes of madness, art and terror in Penny Dreadful 2016: Under the Yellow Sign. Weaving together 3 narratives adapted from The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers, and Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka, we tell a chilling tale about blurring the lines between art and insanity. A young artist discovers an ancient play that drives one to the edge of madness, and brings his muse with him over the edge. A young woman is locked away for her own good, with nothing but her imagination for company. And a sister re-enacts her brother's tragic devolution into a writhing vermin, and the destruction of her family. All under the Yellow Sign of an ancient evil…
