BWW Review: OC's Chance Theater presents Thought-Provoking Play TRIBES
In its admirable Orange County premiere production directed by Marya Mazor, Chance Theater presents an intimately-staged version of Nina Raine's thoughtful, award-winning 2010 play TRIBES, now playing through October 22, 2017. This comedic drama which centers around a young deaf man caught between his hearing family and a new hearing impaired girlfriend asks: is it possible to choose one tribe over another, knowing what each brings to the table?

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to announce the fifth show in our 19th Anniversary Season... Tribes. Written by Nina Raine and directed by Marya Mazor, Tribes will preview from September 24 through September 29; regular performances will begin September 30 and continue through October 22 at Chance Theater at Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

Since the beginning of time, humans have had the ability to express love without using verbal skills. This weekend, July 16th and 17th, Pepsi is hosting an interactive exhibit displaying all of the ways we have silently communicated our love, entitled “Love: From Cave to Keyboard”. It used to be drawings of hearts on the side of a cave, then later people used Morse Code and flag semaphore , and now we have hundreds of emojis.

Broadway Revival of SPRING AWAKENING to Offer Inside Look at Translating Lyrics Into ASL
An interactive American Sign Language experience will be held at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre prior to the Tuesday, December 1st performance of Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Producer and Deaf West Theatre Artistic Director D.J. Kurs, along with members of the cast, will lead an inside look into the process of translating the lyrics of Spring Awakening into American Sign Language. Signed words and lyrics from the show will be taught, followed by a sing- and sign-along.
SPRING AWAKENING's White House Performance Live-Streamed Today
Today, November 18, the cast of Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway production of Spring Awakening, along with writers Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik and director Michael Arden, will travel to Washington, D.C. to perform at the White House as part of a convening on Americans with disabilities and the arts, a celebration of diversity and inclusion.
