Steve Mannix, Executive Director and Tracey Childs, Executive Producer of the Mercury Theatre, which reopened this summer, following an £11.3 million refurbishment, today announced that Emma Dewhurst joins the company of the UK première of Antigone by Merlynn Tong (after Sophocles).

What sells better than sex? In Anna X, the answer is clear: exclusivity. Inspired by the true story of the socialite scammer Anna Sorokin, Joseph Charlton’s play marks the conclusion of Sonia Friedman’s Re:Emerge season at the Harold Pinter Theatre with a boy-meets-girl tale on steroids. In Daniel Raggett’s hip, snappy staging, Emma Corrin and Nabhaan Rizwan — breakout stars of the TV hits The Crown and Industry, respectively — weave a contemporary romance of false façades and murky motives.

In 2017, Young Vic Taking Part took the Young Vic's production of The Brothers Size, by Moonlight writer Tarell Alvin McCraney, into HMP Wandsworth. The workshops led by Liverpool-born playwright Luke Barnes and director Justin Audibert which followed resulted in a brand-new piece of theatre - The Jumper Factory - developed with eight Wandsworth prisoners.

The Young Vic today announce the complete cast for The Jumper Factory. Joining original company members Ayomide Adegun, Jake Mills, Pierre Moullier and Raphael Gwilliams-Akuwudike are Joe Haddad and Rasaq Kukoyi. The production is presented by a cast of young men aged from 18 a?" 25, whose lives have all been affected in some way by the criminal justice system. The production will be staged for prisoners in HMP Brixton and HMP Wandsworth in early September, before playing at HOME Manchester from 10 a?" 14 September.

New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.
