A South Dakota native, Mike McGowan has transformed a Midwestern, big family upbringing into a career full of authenticity,
variety, and connection— for Mike, performance serves as a joyful invitation to the world. On Broadway, he appeared in the record-breaking hit The Producers, the lauded revival of Ragtime, and the iconic and exuberant Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Mike recently concluded an extended run in another musical-theater juggernaut, the 1st National Tour of The Book of Mormon as Joseph Smith and Jesus.
In 2000, he successfully overcame his fear of clowns and traveled the United States as The Ringmaster in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth.
