Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, have announced the third production in American Blues Theater's 'Legends and Legacies,' the world premiere of Christina Gorman's American Myth, directed by Steve Scott, now through April 6, at the Greenhouse Theater Center's Downstage Studio Theater, 2257 N. American Blues to Present World Premiere of AMERICAN MYTH, 3/7-4/6

Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, have announced the third production in American Blues Theater's "Legends and Legacies," the world premiere of Christina Gorman's American Myth, directed by Steve Scott, March 7 - April 6, at the Greenhouse Theater Center's Downstage Studio Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $19 for previews, $29 Thursdays and Fridays, $39 Saturdays and Sundays, and $49 for opening night. Previews are Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. Press/opening night is Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. There are post-show Town Hall discussions following Sunday performances from March 9 - 30. Chicago Shakespeare Theater launches the 2013 tour of Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks with its official opening at Eckhart Park. Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks will bring performances of The Comedy of Errors FREE FOR ALL to 18 neighborhood parks across Chicago through August 25. Twenty thousand people of all ages are expected to attend during the run. The opening is set for this afternoon, July 28, 2013 at Eckhart Park (1330 W. Chicago Ave).

Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks Set for 7/29-8/19

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST), Chicago Park District and The Boeing Company announced today plans to bring Shakespeare, FREE FOR ALL, to community parks across the City of Chicago this summer. From Portage Park to Humboldt Park and Austin to South Shore, this summer from July 29 to August 19, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks will break down barriers to arts participation and give Chicagoans direct access to their City's cultural resources by bringing free Shakespeare performances into their neighborhoods.

Next Theatre Company has extended the Midwest premiere of Amy Herzog's After the Revolution through Saturday, May 19. Next also announces that Fredric Stone will make his Next Theatre debut as he takes over for Mike Nussbaum in the role of "Morty" beginning with the Thursday, May 3 performance.
