Michelle Jasso is an award-honored performer with credits encompassing opera, cabaret, theatre, television, commercial, and voiceover. Within her repertoire of over 25 leading and supporting roles, favorites include Soyla in AMERICAN MARIACHI, The Witch (Into the Woods), Sally Bowles (Cabaret), The Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd, Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award recipient: Featured Actress in a Musical), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Lily (The Secret Garden), and Elizaveta Grushinskaya (Grand Hotel, Jeff Award recipient: Performer in a Supporting Role, Non-Equity). At the time of the COVID-19 shutdown, Jasso was on her first national tour in The King’s Speech, which had its North American premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in fall 2019, the cast of which included Harry Hadden-Paton (Broadway’s My Fair Lady, Downton Abbey, The Crown) and James Frain (The Tudors, True Blood, The White Queen). She has also appeared in Chicagoland with Music Theater Works, Porchlight Music Theatre, Kokandy Productions, Lifeline Theatre, and Oil Lamp Theatre, and regionally with TheatreSquared, the Wyoming Theatre Festival, Opera Grand Rapids, Portland Opera, and The Industry in Los Angeles.
Michelle has appeared in co-star roles on NBC’s Chicago PD and on the hit Showtime series The Chi, and is currently in post-production for a new Latinx webseries entitled Border'd, now in partnership with Open Television (OTV). She has also appeared on Investigation Discovery’s I (Almost) Got Away With It.
A Mexican-American California native now based in Chicago, Jasso is a proud member of Actors’ Equity, SAG-AFTRA, and the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). She is represented by DDO Artists Agency, Chicago.
