Grounds For Sculpture today announces a two-year partnership with Klip Collective to present a distinctive after-hours multisensory experience. The Adrienne Arsht Center, Frost School of Music and the Lowe Art Museum Present PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade Count, the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and the Lowe Art Museum will co-present PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION, featuring the Frost Symphony Orchestra conducted by world-renowned Maestro Gerard Schwarz (@maestroschwarz). Exploring the breadth and depth of artistry within American ballet, the Kennedy Center's Ballet Across America series returns May 28-June 2 for seven performances in the Opera House. This season's engagement features deeper looks at companies led by distinguished Artistic Directors Virginia Johnson and Lourdes Lopez with their respective companies, Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) and Miami City Ballet (MCB). Each company will present a full program while a one-night-only celebration on May 31 features a shared program that includes both companies in a world premiere Kennedy Center commission by renowned choreographer Pam Tanowitz.

Miami City Ballet has announced its 33rd season, showcasing the company's world-class artistry and rising prestige described by The New York Times as 'an exceptional troupe, by Balanchine standards, anywhere in the world.' Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez has curated a new season that includes the company premiere of Brahms/Handel, a unique choreographic collaboration between Twyla Tharp and Jerome Robbins; Paul Taylor's audience favorite Company B, set to the 1940s sounds of The Andrews Sisters; Jerome Robbins masterwork Dances at a Gathering; Justin Peck's Heatscape, inspired by the vibrant streets of Miami's Wynwood Arts District; and the highly anticipated return of George Balanchine's full-length A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Hauser & Wirth Announces Portable Art Project, 4/20
On 20 April 2017, Hauser & Wirth will debut its Portable Art Project with an exhibition of wearable objects commissioned from fifteen artists -- works that exist somewhere between sculpture and bodily adornment. Organized by Celia Forner, who collaborated closely with the artists, the Portable Art Project includes unique pieces as well as editioned series, crafted from an array of materials ranging from traditional gold and silver with precious and semi-precious gems, to enamel, aluminum, bronze, and iron. The initiative began with an invitation to Louise Bourgeois, who in 2008 conceived different rope-like precious metal cuffs. In the years since Bourgeois designed these first contributions, the Portable Art Project has evolved to include John Baldessari, Phyllida Barlow, Stefan Brüggemann, Subodh Gupta, Mary Heilmann, Andy Hope 1930, Cristina Iglesias, Matthew Day Jackson, Bharti Kher, Nate Lowman, Paul McCarthy, Caro Niederer, Michele Oka Doner, and Pipilotti Rist.
YoungArts Honors Jason Moran and Jessica Lang at Backyard Ball Presented by Max Mara
On Saturday, January 14, 2017, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) hosted its annual fundraiser in Miami, theBackyard Ball performance and gala, to help support the artistic development of the nation's most promising young artists. In addition to recognizing the talent of this year's 691 YoungArts Winners, the event honored jazz pianist Jason Moran (1993 Winner in Jazz) with the Arison Alumni Award, and choreographer Jessica Lang as the Arison Award Honoree for their vital contributions and commitment to the arts. The event also featured Javon Jones's acceptance of the inaugural 2016 Max Mara Young Visionary Award presented by Maria Giulia Maramotti, Max Mara's Director of retail for North America.
