Michelangelo Sosnowitz

Michelangelo Sosnowitz (Mike) grew up in Westport, CT and began with piano lessons at the age of 5. He has been composing and studying ever since. As a teenager Sosnowitz won the Connecticut Songwriting Competition in its first year of conception. At NYU he studied theory, composition and film scoring and began scoring plays and dance projects by performing live along side of the actors. He also scored several student films winning two Best Score awards at the First Run Film Festival. Sosnowitz also spent two summers at the Berkshire Theatre Festival writing music for their acclaimed children's theater.

Notable film and TV credits include the teaser music to HBO's Generation Kill, the opening theme music to The History Channel show Battles BC, and the theme and score to the Colin Quinn comedy series Cop Show. His feature film scores include the Dan Fogler directorial debut Hysterical Psycho, the Deborah Kampmeier film SPLiT and the Allie Dvorin film A Novel Romance starring Steve Guttenberg and Shannon Elizabeth.

Notable theater credits include the original scores to the plays A Doctor's Call, Alone at the Beach, An Ideal Husband, Peking Roulette, Search and Destroy and Seeing Double. Sosnowitz composed the original ballet Petrouchka, performed at NYMF, conceived and choreographed by Mathew Neff, as well as the original musicals Crazy Headspace (co-composer with Elisabeth Davis) and Love in the Middle Ages.
